- Account information — name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form) when you create an account.
- Resume and profile data — files you upload (for example PDF or DOCX), parsed skills, work history, preferences, and other profile fields you provide or we infer to power job matching.
- Usage and product data — matches shown, jobs saved, feedback (such as thumbs up/down or applied), and interactions with recommendations.
- Technical data — browser type, device information, IP address, and similar logs collected by our hosting and analytics providers.
How we use information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the RoleMonitor service
- Parse your resume and generate personalized job recommendations
- Send daily recommendation emails if you have an account and matches are available
- Understand product usage and fix bugs (including through analytics tools)
- Protect against abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. Job listings displayed on RoleMonitor come from public employer career pages; when you click Apply, you leave our site and are subject to the employer's own policies.
How we share information
We may share information with service providers that help us operate RoleMonitor, such as:
- Cloud hosting and deployment (for example Vercel)
- Database hosting (for example Neon)
- Resume file storage (for example Cloudflare R2)
- Email delivery (for example Resend)

These providers process data on our behalf under contractual terms. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
